Central Otago and Southland are made up of dry schist ranges, wide basins and old goldfields. The club's reports here are few, and they are as much about bikes as boots.
They include a Christmas cycle trip, the Southern Brevet bike ride from Tekapo to Queenstown and back, mountain biking in Central Otago, tramps in the Rock and Pillar and Garvie ranges, the Remarkables ice and mixed climbing festival and a Conservation Week trip in the Catlins.
