TRIPLE TRAVERSE OF MT. EGMONT Two Stratford Mountain Club members, Messrs. J.M. Hennessy and R.W. Stokes made what is believed to be the first triple traverse of Egmont on February 14th. In 142 hours climbing they climbed to the summit from the Stratford side, descended the southern slopes to the Dawson Falls Hostel, went from there to the summit again, went down the northern route to the NorthE gmont Hostel and back to the summit again. Part of their final descent to the Stret-ford House was made in the dark 9 but moonlight helped them to see their way.
