POSTSCRIPT TO WATORONGCMAT. The easy party cannot boast of a hazardous river trip = no falls or pit falls - no ropes on which to play "Tarzan" - no deep pools to negotiate ( the river has changed slightly since the last trip in two years ago). The only damage to report and/or wear and tear being the loss of the pocket of little Mary, when Ted Esler went rip roaring by and took the pocket of her shorts with him ( and very nearly her shorts), leaving her on the bank with a look of utter amazement on her face and us cn the ground in convulsions of laughter. It was a pleasant week end, marred only by the fact that the F.E. party chose to camp further down the river instead of at the forks with uso It was also sunny almost all the time, which ofcourse made the trip, as it is definitely a summer trip, being easy wading and crisscrossing until you reach the forks, a sheltered spot which is ideal, The following week end that district suffered an all time high flood and am afraid we would have fared rather badly under such circumstances. N Waiorongomai and arrock Neck are rarely visited but it is recommended for its beautiful bush (almost virgin) deep pools and easy access; moreover it is particularly appealing at Xmas when clothed in blazing red of the ratas It bears a repeat and is within the limits of all, Party Mary Hguston, Kath Palmer, Hannah -- Ethyl Carter. ave atchpole, Jack Leitch, Roy Pearson (armed) John Bate, Jack Whitsitt, Trevor Thomas (unarmed) Country members - Ted Esler, Bill Bolton; Lyall Loader Max Carter, Graham Maplesden. Visitors - Bill Harvey, Bruce Talbott, Warren Bourke. E,Co
