Trips That Ran (July 1976)

TRIPS THAT RAN: : Ruapehu Ski Instruction - Managed to ski both days and had plenty of fun although uphill transport was limited to the amount of walking you could do in ski boots. Renata Hut: :. About 20 people enjoyed the stroll with a good cross section of members. Snow was encountered in. the creek, Colonial Knob 23 People enjoyed another of our popular day trips with a fine.day obviously. contributing to its success, A.I.C. This trip was full and members were given basic instruction on the slopes' below Alpine Club hut. Greater Northern: Turned into a middle crossing and had to battle through some, pretty bad weather from all accounts.

Mid Waiohine: Again a change of plan with the six on this trip going down High Ridge. Ascent of Holdsworth: Not many of the 24 on this trip made i it to the top but probably all benefitted by seeing just what the weather can do. Mt. Robert: One trip has run and although the weather was finicky a good half day skiing was had. The snow that fell on the Sunday was badly needed as the slopes were fainy rocky,
