This tramp was very enjoyable and quite relaxed, good to get our leg muscles into working order again for more tramps throughout the year. On Friday night we pitched our flies, after finding with much trouble some wooden stakes. Those who slept out experienced a heavy. dew. in the morning, but it turned out to be a good day when the sun reached us. We mainly travelled up the river and back. On Saturday night we saw some eels swimming in the river where the water was dammed, On Sunday the weather was beautiful So we branched up another tributary of the Kaitawa and found some inviting swimming holés.
